Introduction to the Conference
7-8 November 2019. Ahoy, Rotterdam, the Netherlands
CEDA Dredging Days, as an established biennial event in the dredging professionals’ calendar, does not need much introduction. Over the years, it has developed as CEDA's flagship conference, with high-quality presentations, sessions and networking, and is much appreciated by the dredging community.
This year, Dredging Days showcases the latest developments in dredging technology, sediment management (including the role of ecosystem services), measurement techniques and turbidity minimisation. Several papers will discuss the use and value of modelling in relation to these topics.
In a departure from our usual format, this year’s conference will start with a panel discussion, on the challenges of energy transition and emission reduction in the dredging industry. The interactive session was introduced four years ago and, as it is highly appreciated by delegates, it continues to be part of the programme. The pitch talks, where young professionals have the opportunity to present themselves and their projects, is another successful and recurring feature of the programme and will be organised by Young CEDA. The traditional academic session is also included in the programme.
The comprehensive programme of activities, along with access to Europort 2019, will again provide the best opportunity (and the easiest way) to catch up on the latest, and most relevant, topics in dredging and associated fields.
