Call for Papers

Information for prospective Authors

The technical Committee of the conference invites submissions for the following themes:

I- Design parameter for maritime facilities and coastal protection :

  • Characterisation of coastal and maritime areas in the lack of in-situ oceanographic measures (hydrodynamics , geotechnical , sediment dynamics ….etc )
  • Mathematics and physics modelling for maritime facilities
  • Maritime facilities design in highly dynamics spaces
  • Conditions and solutions for the coastal areas installation


II- New constrains for port management

  • Economic growth and the needs for existing ports extension , coastal cities , seaside resort and coastal protection measures
  • Multi purpose African ports and operating constrains (trade activities cohabitation , hydrocarbons , fishing and dangerous goods …..etc

III- Facilities maintenance and prevention measures

  • Coastal risks related to the facility installation , sand streams , coastal degradation , floods in coastal areas ….)
  • Facilities maintenance ( depth dredging , cathodic protection , by passing technique , protection facilities …etc)
  • Coastal protection (rehabilitation of devastated areas , prevention measures ….etc)
  • Presentation of real cases (case studies) 

Official language

English and French are the official languages for the conference , the papers can be in either one of the two languages . a simultaneous translation will be ensured .the proceeding will be published in both languages.


Authors's Information

The papers must be made exclusive and genuine for the conference. Pure commercial texts are not allowed and authors must grant the section the papers copyright.

Authors wishing to attend must submit an electronic summary of their paper in less than 300 words before May 31TH, 2008. PDF format would be a must. Copies can also be drawn in RTF format and ASCII format. The document must indicate the author’s particulars such as name , affiliation , full address , phone and fax numbers as well as a reliable e-mail address.

Drafts received within the fixed time table will be examined by the technical committee . the committee has the right to accept the proposal either as an oral paper or poster presentation.

Authors will be notified before June 15TH , 2008 of their paper’s fate and will receive the author’s kit . It contains necessary instructions for the final text , registration forms for the conference and the copyright approval.

Once accepted , papers must be finalised in 3000 to 5000 words and reach the organisation committee before September 15TH , 2008 . all papers will undergo tests for quality , correction , originality and efficiency. Comments will be sent to the authors before October 15TH , 2008 in order to assist them in amending and finalising their presentation.

Final text are due before the deadline of November 1ST , 2008.

Final text presentation November 1st, 2008

Final texts and posters will included within the proceeding folio with a comprehensive coverage of themes in both French and English languages. Dispatching will occur
